Introducing: Mike Hitchins

Work Location:

At the moment I’m working in the Great Yarmouth area delivering community based workshops and 1:1 guidance interviews.

Contracts covered:

Currently four days a week with the WNF project in Great Yarmouth, giving information, advice and guidance.

Qualifications and brief work history:

BA hons in Fine Art-Painting. City and Guilds Level 4 Literacy Specialist Tutor qualification and other qualifications relating to teaching adults, assessment, guidance and management.

I began my career teaching Art and Design in Further Education and later worked in Adult Education. Over the years I have developed my skills to include teaching a range of subjects to a wide variety of community groups.

I joined Norfolk Guidance Service in the autumn of 2006, following redeployment within Norfolk County Council.

What I enjoy about my work:

As someone who enjoys meeting and working with people in the hope of making at least a small difference to their lives, this job ticks all the boxes. The work is varied and interesting and provides scope to put my teaching skills and project work experience into practice. The added bonus is belonging to such a friendly, professional team who make working good fun.
